APPLICATIONS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS FOR SUMMER 2026!

Hello everyone! It's time again for applications!

To apply, read the following information, click the link to the application form, fill it out for the character you want to play, and send it off!

The basics you need to know )

* At this point, the school is now officially a collegiate setting. All student applications must be for college students or grad students.

* Teachers are required to teach at least one class/workshop per week, and be accessible to students when needed. This also applies for characters applying to teach an adult class at the Community Center, rather than one at the school.

* If you would like to apply for a new character to teach an adult workshop, fill out the Character Application exactly as if you were applying for a teacher, but mark it "Townie" instead. Note in the Course Description that it would be an adult workshop, not a student workshop. Because of the need to keep track of the adult workshops being offered and start them at the same time, these applications will be processed on the same schedule as student/teacher applications.

* Current townies or teachers can also apply to teach an adult workshop. If you would like to teach an adult workshop with a current character, you can fill out a limited application by following the instructions here.

* See this post for more about character activity.

* All accepted characters go on probation for the first month. After that time, if there's anyone who's disappeared or is causing problems, we'll talk to them about it and possibly discuss removal from the game. It's very difficult to get to the removal stage.

* Improvisation. Fandom High is a balance between planning and improvisation. Some people plan plots, but a lot of the day-to-day stuff is purely improvisation where you throw a bunch of characters together and see what happens.

What’s needed to apply )
Early applications )
What happens once you’ve applied )
Notes for Current Players )
Notes for New Players )

Application Form (This is a GDoc whose text you can paste into an e-mail or attach as a txt file, then send to us at fandomhighadmins dot iambicnut dot com.)

You only need to fill out the parts that are relevant to the type of character you are applying for (ie: if you're a student applicant, don't fill in the stuff marked 'Townies Only').

If you don't get a confirmation email from us within 24 hours, please email us!

Applications close Saturday, May 2nd at 11:59pm Eastern. The next application session for students and teachers after this will be for the Fall session in July!

Fandom Radio, Saturday, April 11

Good morning, everyone, it is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here with all of yesterday's news the squirrels' little squirrely paws could be bothered to report. I do hope there's something juicy.

At the school, Overcoming Obstacles worked with invisible dogs, which does sound like it would be an obstacle to a great many things. Combat 101 watched a film about boxing, and Cupcakes of the World(s) learned about the cupcakes of Mexico.

I've no notes from the dormitory, so we shall move along to the town, where Mr. Henry of Skalitz, ah, dressed in accordance with the weather at the forge, whilst Miss Skywalker trained in the park, observed by Mr. Dooley, who had some questions about her magic laser sword thing, and Dean Skywalker, who hoped she was acting as a flamingo deterrent. And finally, at the Trooper Station, Detective Watts enjoyed a sandwich, and this counts as news. *disappointed sigh* I shall hope for better gossip next week, I suppose. Until then, dear listeners!

The Perk, Saturday

Sairis had decided to treat himself to some coffee - nothing fancy, just some time out of the room. But when he got there, he found that there was a board announcing something called a "splashdown special" which involved an awful lot of foam and something called "gummy fish".

Which led to him asking why. Which led to an explanation. And...the moon? That was somewhere you could actually go?

So now Sairis was sitting at a table with a frothy, fishy, very sugary drink and googling a lot about the history of the space program. It was a lot.

Blackstone Forge & Foundry, Friday

"Right," Henry said. "When you're right, you're right."

Mutt barked, curling up in the far corner of the forge.

"It is getting far too warm in here."

Ah, well, it wasn't like he got customers anyway. Henry pulled off his shirt and cast it towards the corner; Mutt jumped up with a loud yip.

"Oh, don't be a baby."

The park- Friday afternoon

The weather was nice, and Rey didn't want to jinx anything but maybe it was staying that way? At any rate, it gave her an idea, and in the meantime she was enjoying the weather by doing lightsaber drills outside. She did t really need it, but she wanted to do it.

She let Anakin know where she was, found an open spot near a bench, and got to work.

Combat 101, Friday Second Period

It was movie day in fighting class! The students would find their teacher absent and a screen set up for a film, so they could learn about boxing. It was educational.

Cupcakes of the World(s), Friday, 4/10, Period 3

“Mexican cupcakes today,” Stark said. “Mexico is…right here, on our map.” The cupcake sticker count increased by one as Stark added it to the correct spot.

“So, these are a bit different. They have cheese in them. Not cream cheese. Queso fresco. And they’re more like a bread pudding, if you’ve ever had that, than a traditional cupcake. No frosting, really, but there are sprinkles!”

Sprinkles were great, okay?

“Right. So. These are called Capirotada Cupcakes and they have a coffee liqueur crema. I do like coffee flavored things….but you may not and that’s fine if you don’t like these. You can try the ones I brought in.” Because of course there was a platter of them available for eating.

“Any thoughts on Mexico before we begin? Remember I’m happy to help if you need or want that.”

Last night had been the final night of Passover, and so today?

Today Watts was enjoying once again being able to eat bread with absolutely ridiculous sandwich. No, this wasn't lunch. This was a pre-lunch snack.

And no, Calvin, he wasn't gonna share. C'mon.

Overcoming Obstacles, April 9

Steve was in the front of the class again today, this time without Tony or the dogs.

He did, however, have a bunch of leashes that were not holding dogs.

"We're still running through the obstacle course," Steve said, "with these invisible dogs."

The imaginary dogs.

"They should listen better than our three real dogs do," he added optimistically. "Who wants to go first?"

Fandom Radio, April 9, 2026

Good morning, everyone! It's Steve Rogers with the news of Thursday. In classes, Liliana wasn't thrilled that her class ended up at Urza's Fun House, Cara was still unsupervised in Cinema Studies and that led to a movie based on a dice game: was it that the male version of the female heist film? Don taught us about Frigg in Norse Mythology, and Belle was doing some additional reading on the subject in the library.

In town, Thor was in a contemplative mood at the Devil's Nest and Tiny probably didn't knock over every glass there last night?

Someone check for me tonight, okay?

Have a great weekend!

Library, Thursday 4/9

Belle wanted to read up on Norse mythology. Or maybe she wanted to read some romances that were based on it. Maybe both.

Instead somehow she was moving several shelves worth of books instead. She wasn't sure why. They're had been a note saying things needed to be moved and so shrug was doing her best.

She was going to have to take a reading break soon.

The Devil's Nest, Thursday Evening

Thor was in a contemplative mood tonight at the Devil's Nest, which meant he was ignoring whatever Tiny was doing with the highball glasses over there and hoping they didn't topple and break.

They would be Tiny's problem if they did.

Specials
Beauty Elixir
Love Potion
Black Cat Martini

No claims are made that these drinks contain actual magical properties.

Norse Mythology, Thursday, Second Period

"I realized we haven't really talked about the goddesses of Norse mythology much yet, and that's my mistake." He was preoccupied with the family drama side of things, which the women smartly stayed mostly out of. So today we're going to talk about the goddess who most directly impacts your lives today: Frigg, goddess of marriage, prophecy, and motherhood, wife of Odin. You talk about Frigg at least once a week: Friday is named for her.

"Now, where I'm from, Odin is married to Frigga, who sometimes goes by Freyja. Mythologically speaking, these are two separate goddesses, with Freyja being a goddess of love and beauty, but the names are similar enough that people do get them confused and some scholars argue about whether or not they were originally one goddess. If you'll remember the story we read last week, Freyja featured there. Freyja is also a goddess of the dead: she receives half of those who die in battle in her field of Folkvangr. And, fun fact, she rides in a chariot pulled by cats. Way more fun than goats, right?" Sorry, Thor. "And, because the Norse love a similar name, apparently, she has a twin brother named Freyr. Freyr, Freyja, Frigga, Frigg. Get it? Got it? Good."

Jane was still noticeably absent today, which was probably not a good sign.

"Today we're watching a movie about that game with all the weird dice," Cara informed them. "There's a shop in town if you feel inspired."

No doubt, Steph would appreciate all the increased custom that was sure to result from this!

WTFH - Fandom Radio [Thurs, April 9th]

This is a post-it. You dragged me out of bed for a post-it.

*chittering*
Don't tempt me, Leroy.

Up at the School, The Long Con explained about how men shouldn't be trusted with things, while Glitter made ornaments. Just because.

Otherwise, nothing much happened in the Dorms or Town.

The Long Con, Wednesday, Period 1 [4/8]

"I'd say I'm sorry for missing class, but I'm the one who got stuck as a cockroach for a few weeks, so I think you'll all deal with a few missing days," Constantine announced dryly once everyone had arrived.

Look, when Fandom was accurate with its animal transformations, it was accurate, and John wasn't going to argue with it. He knew what he was; an unkillable pest.

"So let's talk about someone that the world tried to stomp-out multiple times, but she never let it stop her from aiming high. Jeanne de Valois Saint Rémy, the Comtesse de la Motte, and the Affair of the Diamond Necklace."

In the eyes of God and the world, I wanted my life to be as it should have been. )

"Jeanne schemed and scraped her entire life, determined to be recognized in her own right and not just resigned to the trash pile of Europe's royal bastards. And, in her own way, she succeeded, though not in the way she wanted. But that's the risk of the con, innit?"

Back in the classroom! Back in the desks pushed together with supplies in the middle! Had Kitty actually put the room back together after class last week? No!

"We're going to be making ornaments today," Kitty said. "I know it's April. You may not celebrate chrustmas. But there's nothing stopping you from hanging it on your window or something at any time of year. So have at it, let me know if you need more supplies."

Welcome to another Wednesday, Fandom.

Another quiet Tuesday yesterday. One class from the school. In Ethics we discussed whether lying is all right. It has to be. Sometimes.

Nothing from the dorms, sorry Porg.

And in the town Tino was once again missing from Caritas and Kitty was no closer to finding out where he was. The drummer was missing as well. I wonder…I hope Tino didn’t end up with the raccoons…

That’s all for today from yesterday. Try to enjoy your days, everyone.

Fandom Radio, Tuesday, April 7th

What up, Fandom? It's me, ya girl, Arden Finch, bringing you all the best gossip mediocre squirrel journalists have collected. Don't look at me like that, Leroy, you know what you did.

School had its usual Monday complement of classes. Squirrel talked about boundaries and ways to say no, Beginner Gourmet Cooking Techniques made raindrop cakes which were very cool and also surprisingly hard to make, and Tasks gave knowing something like the back of your hand a run for its money.

No Dorms and no surprises there, but in Town, Caleb was dealing with kitty jealousy in Furnado, the Trooper Station was disappointed that Officer McGarrett wasn't doing an easter egg hunt, and Professor James got an Easter basket from the Easter Raccoon at the Clinic.

And that's all we got, so this is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off, but leaving you with Keep It Movin' by Yazz, ft. Serayah
